...Their client wanted real time receiving of their Work Order requests, along with on completion reporting of labour and material. SPA went to the market to find a job management system that could provide this functionality along with field mobility. After rigorous investigation they found there was no off the shelf software capable of their requirements. The SmartTrade job management system was the best fit, but their clients’ requirements were still missing. SPA’s National Contracts Manager Mr George Pallis put the question to SmartTrade “Can you develop what I need?” SmartTrade looked at what was needed and developed a clever product to read the emailed work orders from the client and automatically load jobs for the Operations Service Managers into their own Desktop PC’s and then allow them to distribute the appropriate Work Requests to field tech’s Mobile PDA Devices. In addition to this, the client receives an electronic report weekly to update the status of all their Work Requests into their own Database Management System. The client has been so impressed on the success and delivery of this service they have not only renewed SPA’s contracts but also provided more work to boot!
