Allen & O’Brien, a Melbourne based electrical contractor, implemented SmartTrade to manage the growing number of jobs being generated from the large industrial sites they service in West Melbourne, and from domestic and commercial jobs across the city.
Brendan O'Brien's (director) main goal was to mobilise his field staff, allowing job information to be entered on site and minimising double entry of data. Brendan quickly realized that SmartTrade provides additional benefits, including better job tracking and monitoring of staff activity, and making sure that labour and materials are charged to the jobs.
Since implementing SmartTrade, Allen & O’Brien has bought a boiler maintenance business that does a lot of work in Albury, on the Victoria/NSW border 4 hours drive north of Melbourne. SmartTrade Mobile allows Allen & O’Brien to run the boiler maintenance business from Melbourne - job information is sent to and received back from the field technicians wirelessly.
